Friedman reveals William Nylander's approach for signing his contract

Things haven't happened the way Brad Treliving would've wanted for Nylander's and Matthews' contract extensions.

There seems to be a few issues in that matter that prevent the players from signing.

Matthews doesn't want to sign before Nylander and Nylander doesn't want to sign for a reduced salary unless Matthews does it first.

And the word on the street is that Nylander wants to be paid more than $10 million, but the Leafs are only willing to offer $8 million.

Nylander had an impressive season last year, scoring 40 goals and adding 87 points to his overall tally. This brings his total to 430 points in his 521 regular season NHL games.
