Kane's Free Agency

Patrick Kane, three time Stanley Cup Champion and former Hart Trophy winner has been a free agent since the summer when his contract with the New York Rangers expired. Since then, there has been much discussion by insiders and fans alike regarding where Kane will end up.
If you remember, Kane underwent a major hip surgery recently and is still getting back to 100%. Most recently, Insider Elliotte Friedman has taken to NHL Network to update the status of the ongoing Patrick Kane sweepstakes. The comments can be found in the tweet below.

Where is Kane Headed?

In the same discussion, Friedman noted that he believes the remaining contenders are Florida, Detroit and Buffalo. All of which could use the veteran presence of Kane. It was also reported that the majority of the teams that Kane met with were in the Eastern conference. The reason for this is reportedly because he is concerned about the amount of travel and the effects that could have on his recovering body. At the time of this article, nothing is confirmed yet but it seems as if Patrick Kane will end up remaining in the Eastern Conference.
More details to come.
