This fan just made a potential trade proposal between the Calgary Flames and Montreal Canadiens that is raising some eyebrows.

Fan Proposes Blockbuster Trade of Huberdeau for Gallagher and Anderson

Maxime Van Houtte, a Canadiens social media super fan has just posted an interesting trade proposal involving the Montreal Canadiens and the Calgary Flames. The trade would see Brendan Gallagher and Josh Anderson sent to Calgary in exchange for Jonathan Huberdeau

Received in DM:

Jonathan Huberdeau, his contract of $10.5M for 8 seasons and his 57 pts in 91 games with CGY

Brendan Gallagher, his $6.5M for another 4 years
Josh Anderson, his $5.5M for another 4 years

Let's say the players say yes. Which team says no and why?

Who Says No to Blockbuster Deal? Calgary or Montreal?

The hypothetical trade is an interesting one, as the Montreal Canadiens have extra goaltending on their hands and could use some extra scoring up front in Huberdeau. on the other hand, Calgary would be receiving two assets and dumping a huge contract.

Brendan Gallagher's 400th NHL point is a power play goal to tie this game at two.

However, this is dependent on Huberdeau's performance, which has been lacking recently. Many are touting his contract as one of the worst right now in the NHL, and for this reason, Van Houtte believes it's likely the Canadiens who say no.

"MTL probably says no, I love Huby but his contract looks like one of the worst in the salary cap era right now, it seems like magical thinking that a simple change of scenery would fix him."
