This Eastern Conference team is reportedly re-engaging in trade talks with the Anaheim Ducks for a potential goaltender in hopes of pushing themselves up the standings.

New Jersey Devils Engaging in Trade Talks With Anaheim For Gibson

The New Jersey Devils are right in the mix this season in an extremely tight Metro division. While they have gotten the full potential out of their stars in Jack Hughes, Jesper Bratt and Tyler Toffoli, their secondary scoring has lacked, along with some mediocre goaltending. Despite this, they remain competitive in the division.
Now, Devils reporter James Nichols has reported that the team has re-engaged in trade talks with the Anaheim Ducks with their eyes on Goaltender John Gibson.
Per source, NJHN has learned that #NJDevils GM Tom Fitzgerald has re-engaged in John Gibson.

The Ducks are in town this week to play the Isles, Rangers, and Devils.

Gibson Having a Bounceback Year for the Ducks But Could Prove Difficult to Move

Gibson is having himself a bounceback year for the Ducks, recording a 2.83 GAA and .906 save percentage. However, his $6.4 million cap hit through the 2026-27 season makes him a difficult target for the Devils who are already nudging up against the cap, along with his 10-team no-trade list.
If the Devils can work something out, though, this would bolster their shot at being a serious contender this post-season.
