Eastern Conference Powerhouse Looking at Duclair in Potential Trade

The Boston Bruins don't want to make the same mistakes as last year and definitely don't want a repeat of their performance in last year's playoffs either. They are sitting pretty in the Eastern Conference, just like they were last season. However, to make their odds of a long post-season push that much better, they are looking to add to their top six.

Rumours have surfaced that the Bruins are one of many teams looking at Elias Lindholm. However, that may cost the Bruins what they don't have. Another option, as The Athletic's Fluto Shinzawa points out, is Anthony Duclair.

Duclair would fit seamlessly into the Bruins offence, bringing tenacity and a physical presence to their top six that they desperately need in the absence of Milan Lucic. A trade for Duclair could shore up their roster in exactly the way they would want.

Duclair has had some great success in the last few seasons, aside from missing time last year due to an injury. He scored 31 goals in 2021-22 for the Florida Panthers. This season, he has been able to score 13 points for a terrible San Jose Sharks team that doesn't score much.

The Sharks are clearly going to be sellers this year at the deadline, as they have already signalled to the League that they are interested in moving some of their assets ahead of a rebuild. We will see if Boston is one of the teams that is looking to buy from them.
