The Arizona Coyotes have been really struggling in the last few years. They've had disappointing seasons, struggled to get top players, and even have to play in a college arena, which is a bit embarrassing. All of this has made them a joke in the NHL. Recently, they did something that made them stand out even more. They signed Jack McBain to a two-year contract. There were rumors that he would be paid $1.6 million, and surprisingly, the actual salary was almost the same. The funny part is that McBain was a RFA and could have gone through a arbitration hearing to decide his salary. But instead, they agreed on a salary of $1,599,999, just one dollar less than the rumored amount.

An odd Contract
It's unclear why they settled on such an odd figure. Maybe McBain wanted $1.6 million but was okay with one dollar less to close the deal. Or maybe the Coyotes wanted to keep his salary below $1.6 million and convinced him to accept the slightly lower offer. Whatever the reason, it's pretty ridiculous to think that such a small difference caused so much fuss. This kind of situation just adds to the Coyotes' reputation as an odd and laughable team in the NHL.
