Last-minute announcement from the Canadiens Concerning Jesse Ylonen
There was only one file left on Kent Hughes' desk before he went on summer vacation, and that was Jesse Ylonen's contract extension.
It's now a done deal. The Canadiens have just announced the Finn's contract extension.
It's a one-season, two-part contract. Kent Hughes gives himself options for Laval, given the number of forwards the CH has.
That's probably why it's only a one-season contract and why it took so long to settle. Ylonen clearly wanted an NHL-only contract, and that's understandable.
The Canadiens agree to terms on a one-season, two-way contract with forward Jesse Ylönen.#GoHabsGohttps://t.co/NdnvQVYEqu- Canadiens Montréal (@CanadiensMTL) July 31, 2023
