Breaking: Devils Trade Top Available Defenseman to Blue Jackets
Just a few moments ago, Elliotte Friedman shared on Twitter that the Columbus Blue Jackets and the New Jersey Devils are close to finalizing a big trade.
Severson to Join the Blue Jackets
It's said that Damon Serverson is about to be traded to the Devils and will agree to an eight-year contract with an average yearly pay of $6.25M.
This is a big step that'll greatly strengthen the Blue Jackets' defense.
"Damon Severson and NJ are working on a sign and trade to Columbus. 8x$6.25M"
We don't have all the details about what the Devils get for Severson, but we know that it includes at least a 2023 third round pick.
After acquiring Ivan Provorov earlier this week, it shows that the Blue Jackets are commited to reinforce their blue line.
