The Canadiens' long-term strategy is quite clear: build around Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield.

Admittedly, it's a good strategy, especially since they're young and signed for the long haul, as well as being the team's best players.
However, there's one major point that worries former Canadiens coach John Scott. Indeed, the former strongman and "star player" speaks out about his concerns:
"They're super talented, but I'm not sure they can have playoff success being this small."

- John Scott

Sure, at 5'7" and 5'11", Caufield and Suzuki aren't the tallest, but if you look back to 2021, when the Habs made it to the Stanley Cup Final, both players have had their share of success.
The important thing will be to surround them with big and skilled players, which is what the CH staff is trying to do.
