With four goalies on NHL contracts, it can't be easy for Jake Allen and company to get their bearings. Nevertheless, true to form, the veteran is approaching the situation with enthusiasm.

While everyone believes that Kent Hughes' priority is to trade one of the goalies, Allen made a statement that speaks volumes. According to him, there will be more and more goalies in the league, and the two-goalie rotation will become a three-goalie rotation.
There are only 23 players in a line-up. It will be up to them to decide whether they want to waste a spot on an extra goalie or not. But I think that in the future, there will be more and more goalies playing during the season, not just two. That's the nature of the job.

The game is so fast. Injuries are more and more frequent because young people are playing hockey more and more often. The body accumulates mileage at a younger age. I think in the future, we're going to see three or four goalies very regularly throughout the year." - Jake Allen

Barring a very big surprise, Cayden Primeau will be subject to the waivers and the Tricolore could start the season with three goalies. Perhaps that's what Kent Hughes wanted to imply at his most recent press conference, when he mentioned he had a plan for Casey DeSmith.
