Ken Holland is set to place goaltender Jack Campbell on waivers today, according to Elliotte Friedman.
"Edmonton will be putting Jack Campbell on waivers today."
By doing this, they will free up $5M on the roster.
This could indicate that they want to bring up other players from the AHL, prepare for a trade, or secure a signing.
With Patrick Kane rumored to be interested in playing for the Oilers and his return date approaching, moving Campbell could be an indicator that something big is coming.
