Alex Ovechkin Sets Terrible New Career Record
Alex Ovechkin set a new career record after the Senators held him without a shot on goal tonight. The Capitals superstar, arguably the best goal scorer of all time, went without a shot on goal in his previous game as well.

Ovechkin Makes History
This was the first time in Ovi's career where he managed zero shots on goal in back-to-back games. That might sound a bit far-fetched, but it is true.
Since he joined the league in 2005, Ovechkin has amassed over 6300 shots on goal in 1349 games. He's averaged well over 4.5 shots on goal per game over the course of his tremendous career. Few players are known to shoot the puck as much as him and he's lead the league in shots on goal over ten times. All of this makes it even more surprising that he was held without a shot on goal for two games in a row. Perhaps his age is finally catching up with him.
