A new role for Carey Price this season?
Carey Price is a master at being a leader with the Montreal Canadiens. After all these years as a member of the organization, 17 years to be exact, Price has a lot of experience and his voice in the players' room still has a major impact.
Mario Langlois of 98.5 FM spoke with Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes and we learned a good one about the potential next role for the cherub.
Indeed, it's no surprise to anyone that Price won't be playing in 2022-23, barring a miracle. However, Kent Hughes has offered him a position as a mentor in the team, an offer that Carey is giving himself time to evaluate before giving an answer.
"You stay around the team as much as you want, but if you find it mentally difficult, we'll keep a clean sheet and it's up to you."
You can tell there's a lot of respect for Carey Price in the organization. After all, the goalie has accomplished so many great things with the CH logo on his chest. If he agrees to mentor the youngsters, it would be a great asset to the team in the short and long term.
