Tonight controversy has erupted in the crucial game between the Edmonton Oilers and Winnipeg Jets after a polarizing goal.

The Edmonton Oilers are in Winnipeg tonight to faceoff against the best team in the Western Conference ahead of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Early in the game things have taken a turn towards controversy with the Oilers on the powerplay.
During the powerplay the Oilers took a shot from the point by Connor McDavid which was then blocked by Jets defenseman Dylan Samberg.
Samberg went down in a heap of pain and remained down while the Oilers went to work with the puck.
Eventually the Oilers would work the puck around and forward Adam Henrique would put home a goal.
This led to outrage from fans who believe play should have been stopped once Samberg went down.
Instead, play continued and the Oilers went on to score and now currently have a 2-1 lead.
As of now, Samberg has left the game and not returned to the ice.
The Jets are already down one key player as Nikolaj Ehlers went down yesterday with an injury as well.
If Samberg misses significant time that would be a terrible break for the Winnipeg Jets as the Stanley Cup Playoffs approach.
While the final score of the game ultimately isn't of much concern to either team the injury suffered by Samberg could have a major impact on the Jets playoff lineup.
As more details are made available by the Winnipeg Jets regarding Samberg's injury and status going forward we will pass along the latest news to you.
