The Jets have recalled one of the team's top prospects, Brayden Yager, from the WHL's Lethbridge Hurricanes, as the team continues through Round 1. Similarly to what the Jets did with Nikolaj Ehlers during their 2015 playoff run, when they recalled their 2014 1st rounder from the juniors to give him a chance to be around the team, it appears they are doing the same now. It was just announced that the Jets have recalled their 2023 1st rounder, Brayden Yager, as the team continues to push through the first round of the playoffs against the St. Louis Blues.

Loading from Twitter ...

There is no word yet as to whether Yager will suit up for any games, or if this is simply to have him around the team for experience. Yager's Hurricanes team in the WHL just got bounced by the Tigers in the Eastern Conference Finals. In the 16 playoff games he has played with Lethbridge, he scored eight goals and added six assists for a total of 14 points.
Yager was acquired from the Penguins in the Ruther McGroarty trade
Winnipeg acquired Yager in a one-for-one swap that sent Rutger McGroarty over to the Pittsburgh Penguins. The move helped keep the Saskatoon native in western Canada, as he grew up in Martensville and spent the last five seasons in the WHL. He scored 28 goals and 78 points in 67 games during his draft-eligible campaign and earned a spot as Moose Jaw's top centerman.

Loading from Twitter ...

Yager has continued to match that mark in the years since, picking up 95 points in 57 games last year and a combined 82 points in 54 games this season, which was split between Moose Jaw and Lethbridge. He has also been a dominant force for Canada internationally, picking up five points in five games at the 2024 World Juniors and returning as captain of the team this year, where he had three assists in five games.
