The Jets have granted permission to former first-round pick Brad Lambert and his agent to seek a trade partner after he has had limited minutes this season.

Brad Lambert was recently assigned to AHL Manitoba on Monday by the Winnipeg Jets, in what has been a season of misery. Now, he may have finally seen the light at the end of the tunnel, as the team has granted him permission to seek a trade.

What led to Brad Lambert's trade request

Lambert has been a healthy scratch in Winnipeg's last five consecutive games prior to being sent down. He has one goal, three shots on net, one blocked shot and three hits in four NHL appearances so far this season.
Lambert hasn't picked up a point in two AHL outings this campaign and has a -2 rating.

Why the Jets have been in the news a lot lately

The Jets have been making headlines lately. It all started when Mark Scheifele became the player to play the most games in franchise history. That was then followed up by the contract extension announcement of Adam Lowry.
Scheifele became the all-time franchise leader in games played (898) on Tuesday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets, passing longtime teammate and former captain, as well as fan-favourite, Blake Wheeler.
That was then followed up with a five-year contract extension worth $25 million for Lowry. He has served as team captain since the beginning of the 2023 season and has spent all 12 of his NHL seasons playing with the Jets.
Turning our attention back to Lambert, it will be an interesting couple of weeks ahead to see where he ends up heading in order to continue his playing career.
