Tonight, Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Arniel confirmed he spoke to every single player individually to fix on specific issue early in the year. Coming off of one of the best regular seasons in franchise history the Winnipeg Jets have had a moderately disappointing start to the year. They remain in a playoff spot but multiple times throughout the year Scott Arniel has called the team out for letting up and letting teams back into games.

Loading from Twitter ...

This evening, Arniel spoke to the media and confirmed that he spoke to each player individually to help stop some of these issues.
Scott Arniel Held Individual Player Meetings to Fix a Specific Issue
Early in the season, Arniel has attributed the Jets lack of consistency to a misunderstanding of expectations especially for new players. As a result, Arniel spoke to every player individually about what he expects from them starting with new arrivals like Jonathan Toews and Gustav Nyquist. I had 1-on-1 (meetings) with the players. Because we have a large number of new guys, we have been teaching them as we go, but we never really got a chance since training camp to say: 'This is what I expect from you.' Then, Arniel continued on to veterans like Mark Scheifele and Connor Hellebuyck who know what the standard is but wanted to remind them the role they play each and every night as leaders of the club. Review with our players that were here last year, touching on things I expect from them every night. I think that was more what today was about. Each guy knows his role, what I expect, what the coaches expect and (know that it's time) to go out and do it as a whole. Now, it will be up to the Winnipeg Jets players to go out and execute the vision set forth by Scott Arniel and play up to the standard that everyone around the NHL expects from them going forward.
