Today, NHL analyst Dave Minuk has suggested an unconventional strategy to get Winnipeg Jets' captain Adam Lowry up to speed before making his NHL debut.

The Winnipeg Jets have been without captain Adam Lowry the entire season so far after he had offseason hip surgery.
Over the last few days, Lowry has returned to practice and even shed his no-contact jersey but he has not had any live reps in practice to determine how close he is.
With Lowry back at practice, head coach Scott Arniel was asked for an update on the plans for the Jets' captain and provided a cryptic answer.
With Arniel mentioning a potential plan that the team had to run by Lowry fans have begun to speculate that he could spend some time in the AHL before making his return.

Jets Could Look To Send Adam Lowry On An AHL Stint Before His Full Return

After hearing Arniel's comments, Dave Minuk of Illegal Curve has suggested that the Jets and GM Kevin Cheveldayoff could be considering an AHL conditioning stint for Adam Lowry.
This would allow Lowry to play in game scenarios with the Manitoba Moose and take contact without the pressure of playing for the NHL club.
The Moose also have four games within the next week which would give plenty of opportunities for Lowry to test out his fitness and readiness to return.
It remains to be seen what the Jets will do but with the team remaining patient with Lowry this could be the best move to make sure the Jets captain is fully ready to go once he returns to the Winnipeg lineup.
As more news is provided on the Jets' plans for Adam Lowry and his eventual return we will pass them along to you.
