Three of the Jets' top prospects with the Manitoba Moose have been dealing with injuries, and an update has been provided on all three players' timelines. The Manitoba Moose skated on the ice before they head into wrapping up their home segment of their 2024-25 schedule. In the wake of the skate, head coach Mark Morrison provided an update on Jets prospects Chaz Lucius, Nikita Chibrikov, and Parker Ford.

Second-rounder Nikita Chibrikov was Manitoba's top scorer before a serious injury in January against the Marlies. He was carried off the ice and was finished for the season. He remains lingering around the rink, rehabbing. His rehab is going great. The trainers tell us that he's ahead of the process, working real hard. He's here sometimes 5-7 hours a day, putting the time in, putting the effort in. He looks good. I heard today that maybe by the end of April he'll be moving around on the ice a little bit. Everything looks good. - Mark Morrison The Jets' 2021 first-rounder Chaz Lucius was eased into the season after summer surgery. He played occasionally at the start of the season, then returned to regular duty in December, dressing for 21 straight games through Jan. 31. He missed two games for a brief period, then returned on Feb. 9. Several days later, the team reported he was having a non-injury medical problem that required further examination.
Lucius is out for the rest of the season
He has not played since, sitting out 23 games. Morrison was queried if Lucius might return before the season's end. He's still looking to get prognosis on the ailment. I don't expect him back for the season. He's fought through some surgeries and injuries. He worked really hard to get back to where he was and like you say he played 20 some odd games in a row and was making strides and then this hits. It's unfortunate, feel bad for him but hopefully he can get over this one as well. - Mark Morrison It's a state of desperation for the 22-year-old, who has experienced his share of hardships in his limited career so far. Parker Ford, having made his NHL debut in January and scored his first goal in Boston, returned to the Moose and played five games before an upper-body injury late in his fifth game took him out for the season. The most recent update, as of March 5, was that Ford underwent surgery and would be rehabbing for 6-8 weeks. He had the surgery and he's four weeks into it. I think the cast comes off soon and he starts working. He's been on the ice skating and working as hard as he can. He's just starting to hold the stick so yeah a couple more weeks and Parker will be good. He puts the work in put it that way. - Mark Morrisson Hopefully these three players will all be healthy and ready to shine in the Jets training camp that opens up in September.
