Tonight a new report from NHL insider Elliotte Friedman has revealed new details on the last minute extension agreement between Dylan Samberg and the Winnipeg Jets. Heading into the 2025 offseason the Winnipeg Jets were mostly looking to keep their core group together to run it back next season. After losing Nikolaj Ehlers to the Carolina Hurricanes the Winnipeg Jets turned their focus to restricted free agent Dylan Samberg. The Jets qualified Samberg allowing them more time to negotiate with the breakout defender while holding on to his rights.
