Connor Hellebuyck Wins Two Of The NHL's Most Prestigious Awards Capping Off A Historic Season

Earlier this week, a photo began to circulate indicating that Hellebuyck had won both the Vezina Trophy for the NHL's top goaltender and Hart Trophy for league MVP.

At the time, this photo was just a leak and could have been promotional material for the NHL Awards show.

Tonight, the leaked photo has become reality as Hellebuyck will take home both the Vezina Trophy and the Hart Trophy.

During the NHL Awards Show Connor Hellebuyck has been officially named the league's best goaltender and the MVP.

Hellebuyck is on an incredible run with his second Vezina Trophy in a row and his first Hart Trophy in his illustrious career.

His Vezina Trophy run was truly dominate taking home almost every single first place vote.

The Hart Trophy became a two horse race with Hellebuyck edging out Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl.

With this historic honor Hellebuyck becomes the fourth goalie in the NHL history with three Vezina Trophies.

He also becomes just the 8th goaltender in the history of the award to earn the Hart Trophy.

Being in conversations with the likes of Dominik Hasek, Patrick Roy, Carey Price, and Martin Brodeur firmly places Hellebuyck in Hall of Fame territory and as the best goaltender in the history of the Winnipeg Jets.

While this moment won't entirely take the sting of the Stanley Cup Playoff loss away it will cement Hellebuyck as one of the greatest goaltenders in the history of the NHL.

Now, the focus for Hellebuyck and the Winnipeg Jets will turn from celebration to preparation for next season to do it all over again.
