NHL insider Mike McIntyre has revealed the four options the Jets have in order to turn their season around, and which path is most likely to occur.

Mark Chipman, one of the cofounders and an owner of the Winnipeg Jets, was prominently visible during the team's road trip through the St. Louis, Denver, and Salt Lake City areas, which yielded only a single point in their quest for an NHL win.
Travel for Chipman is not as prevalent as it used to be, but the timing was indicative. Chipman witnessed with his own eyes what is happening to a team that just recently won the Presidents' Trophy.
The team has only six victories in their previous 23 games, which puts their record at 15-17-3. Chipman was actually in the hallway outside the locker room, listening to coach Scott Arniel convey his frustration.

What Scott Arniel this holiday break could do for his Jets players

The Jets are now looking ahead to a five-day holiday break, with Arniel believing that some "inner soul-searching" may take place among his players.
With almost half a season completed and a roster assembled that should vie for a Stanley Cup championship, questions are piling up. And questions are not something that should exist in a results-oriented league like the NHL.
NHL insider Mike McIntyre has discussed four different ways for the Jets to rectify their season. One solution is to fire someone, perhaps coach Arniel or GM Kevin Cheveldayoff.
As specific strategies, the other two alternatives might include rearranging the roster by making trades or promoting the best prospects. A fourth solution is to keep the status quo and do absolutely nothing.

NHL insider Mike McIntyre's proposition

"If nothing else, injecting fresh energy into a group that feels like it's been waiting for something to happen could offer a glimmer of hope.

Otherwise, the «gloom and doom» Arniel referenced recently is only going to deepen."

McIntyre proposes that by injecting new life into the team, they may spark a new energy in their play, as opposed to their strategy to simply stand pat and let the "gloom and doom" that Arniel spoke about sink even deeper.
In McIntyre's outlook on the situation with the Jets, anything is possible before the trade deadline.
