Today, new comments by Golden Knights captain Mark Stone seem to be a direct shot at his former head coach Bruce Cassidy.
Over the weekend, the Vegas Golden Knights made the shocking decision to fire Bruce Cassidy.
He was swiftly replaced by longtime NHL head coach John Tortorella with just 8 games left in the season.
After the firing, captain Mark Stone spoke to the media and called out his former head coach for letting the team down in one specific area.

During a recent press conference, Stone was asked if Cassidy had lost the locker room and he admitted a lack of intensity and emotion from the former bench boss held the team back.
It could be. For whatever reason, it just didn’t show in our play. There was some good hockey played at times, but I keep coming back to the emotion. It wasn’t there for whatever reason.
Stone seemed to be holding back with these comments even potentially signaling at deeper issues with intensity and emotion under Cassidy’s reign as head coach.
This is a sentiment shared by his new head coach John Tortorella which has to make one wonder if the two spoke either before or after Tortorella was hired about these exact failings.
Now, it will be up to Tortorella to find that emotion and energy buried underneath or risk being fired himself in short order.
As the situation continues to unfold it will be interesting to see how fast Tortorella will either sink or swim with the Golden Knights.
