Ejiwa “Edge” Ebenebe just gave the Vancouver Canucks a new Black Excellence logo, and it hits with real pride.

The club called it “a unique representation of heritage and culture,” and that feels like the right framing. This is art first, hockey second.
Ebenebe’s style is loud in the best way, full of colour and identity. It looks built to pop on merch, and to stand alone as its own statement.
This matters because the Canucks have quietly made these community-night marks a yearly tradition. Fans actually remember them, which is saying something in a league drowning in throwback drops.
The timing also lands with the season in a weird spot on the ice. Vancouver needs good news that is not just a power play percentage.
The reveal came through the team’s social post, with Ebenebe credited front and center.
Black Excellence Night is set for Monday, March 2, against the Dallas Stars.

Honestly, Canucks fans have been tense lately, so seeing the team put spotlight time into something positive is a welcome exhale.
Ebenebe is a Nigerian-Canadian artist based in B.C., and her work leans hard into representation and community. That background fits the point of the night.
The Canucks are also leaning into a full collection around the logo, not just a one-off graphic. It’s a clean way to turn attention into support.
On the standings side, Vancouver sits at 18-33-6, so the rest of this season is about finding traction and protecting the room.
Monday, March 2 now feels like more than a theme night. It’s a chance for Rogers Arena to feel connected again, even if the points are still hard to find.
