Vancouver Canucks Once Again Linked to Multiple Time Stanley Cup Champion Steven Stamkos
This afternoon, NHL insider Jeff Marek has stoked the flames connecting the Vancouver Canucks to two-time Stanley Cup Champion Steven Stamkos.
Earlier this week, Canucks reporter and insider Rick Dhaliwal first mentioned the possibility of Vancouver Canucks acquiring Stamkos from the Nashville Predators.
Stamkos is in his second season with the Nashville Predators but things have not gone well at all for him.
In 2024-25, Stamkos played 82 games and tallied 53 points which for the future Hall of Famer is a disappointing mark.
This season, things have totally gone wrong for Stamkos as he has just 2 points in the 13 games he has played this year.
With Nashville looking like a middle of the road team in the NHL Stamkos could likely be looking for a change of scenery.
Steven Stamkos Connected to the Vancouver Canucks By Insider
The Vancouver Canucks have been in desperate search for help up front after a flurry of injuries to key players including Filip Chytil and Conor Garland recently.
According to a new report from insider and reporter Jeff Marek, Steven Stamkos trade rumors have been heating up with the Vancouver Canucks and Montreal Canadiens listed as the favorites to land him.
While this remains just a rumor for now, this is the second person with inside knowledge of the league to mention the Canucks and Stamkos together.
If Stamkos can get back to the level of player he was with the Tampa Bay Lightning later in his career he could be a massive upgrade over their current middle-six options.
As the season continues and the trade deadline nears it will be interesting to see if Patrik Allvin can pull off a move and bring a big name like Stamkos to Vancouver.
