The Vancouver Canucks have had to make an emergency recall today, calling up forward Max Sasson from Abbotsford as the team deals with multiple injuries.

Max Sasson is coming back to the Vancouver Canucks. The team released news Friday that the 24-year-old forward has been recalled from AHL Abbotsford on emergency terms.
Sasson, who made his NHL debut this season, has two goals and four assists in 24 games with the Canucks.
In the AHL, he's had nine goals and 17 assists in 37 games during the 2024-25 season.
Sasson has continued to lead the charge in the AHL, combining for seven points in his two recent games. His solid performance no doubt led to him being the one chosen for this call-up.

Sasson is tearing up the AHL with his scorching hot play as of late

Over the last two weeks, Sasson has been one of the hottest, if not the hottest player in the entire AHL. He now has 10 points in seven games. The best part is that they come in various forms, as he's been utilized in multiple ways.
Vancouver is missing forwards Elias Pettersson and Nils Hoglander, who are both still in Vancouver, recovering from injuries suffered in last Saturday's game against the New York Rangers.
The Canucks continue their six-game trip Friday with a game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. They are five points behind the St. Louis Blues for the final Western Conference wild-card spot, but have two games in hand.
