This evening a new report from Vancouver Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal has given a huge update on a pair of extension talks. With NHL Free Agency less than a month away, star forward Brock Boeser's future with the Canucks remains in doubt. To this point, it has been widely speculated that Boeser will test the market in free agency and hope for a new home next season. However, to this point, fellow unrestricted free agent Pius Suter's status was much less clear. Tonight, that has changed as Dhaliwal gave the latest update on both Boeser and Suter's negotiations.
Canucks Insider Provides A Crucial Update On A Pair Of Upcoming Free Agents
According to Dhaliwal's sources, the Canucks remain in contact with both Boeser and Suter on potential extensions. With that said, Dhaliwal believes a deal with Suter is much more likely than one with Boeser. We're down to crunch time, folks. Brock Boeser and Pius Suter, July 1st is not too far away. The Canucks want to keep Pius Suter, but it sounds like the number could be too high for Vancouver. With Suter specifically, the Canucks would like to bring him back but no solid offer has been made yet. It sounds as though the Canucks will also let Suter test the market and if his price remains within the Canucks affordability an extension could happen after July 1st. The two sides have talked. No concrete offer from the Canucks yet. The July 1st center market is slim, we all know that, Don. Brock Nelson going off the market could mean more teams in on Suter. I'm told the Canucks do not want to go to a crazy number for Suter - Rick Dhaliwal

Loading from Twitter ...

While this doesn't entirely close the door on Boeser and Suter returning it makes their return much more unlikely if they make it July 1st without a contract. As more reports surface on the future of both Boeser and Suter we will pass along the latest news to you.
