It appears the Rangers are nearing a deal that could send Chris Kreider, a Canucks trade target, to the Ducks in a potential blockbuster move.

The NHL is set to enter arguably the busiest period of the year, with the Entry Draft and Free Agency less than three weeks away. This period of time always brings plenty of trades, sometimes involving big names.
Vancouver Canucks President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford is hoping to be aggressive this summer to improve the team's forward group, likely by adding a second line centerman and possibly a top-six winger, with numerous targets being identified as of late.
While the NHL usually doesn't like trades to occur during the Stanley Cup Final, it appears that a deal is in the works involving a Vancouver Canucks target.
NHL insider Frank Seravalli revealed on social media that the New York Rangers and Anaheim Ducks are working on a trade that would send former first-round pick Chris Kreider to California.
Kreider has spent his entire career with the New York Rangers after being selected in the first round by them back during the 2009 draft.

The Canucks have had interest in Kreider since back in December

The 34-year-old has been linked to numerous teams since December, when reports circulated about his availability, and among those that reportedly had interest in him were the Canucks.
According to Seravalli, talks between Anaheim and New York include Ducks forward prospect Carey Terrance, who was drafted in the second round in 2023 and has spent the last four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Erie Otters.
Should this Kreider deal eventually go through, the Ducks would be adding a veteran and leadership piece to their dressing room, which will be a big addition for the team. Unfortunately for Vancouver, it will mean they let another great player slip away.
