Quinn Hughes' future with the Vancouver Canucks remains very uncertain and tonight a panel of TSN analysts have suggested a trade that could land him in Toronto. Earlier today, reports suggested that Canucks' captain and superstar Quinn Hughes could ask for a trade in the near future if the team does not improve. The Canucks currently sit as one of the worst teams in the NHL and have struggled immensely to score at an acceptable level. With Hughes' contract expiring after next season and his public desire to play with his brothers many believe Quinn is as good as gone once his contract expires. If Patrik Allvin and the Canucks are going to trade Hughes a panel of TSN analysts believe that the Toronto Maple Leafs could be a prime landing spot for him.
Maple Leafs and Canucks connected in potential Quinn Hughes deal by TSN analysts
During a recent round table discussion on Overdrive 1050, a trio of TSN analysts discussed Hughes' future. With a trade becoming a possibility the panel discussed what a deal to the Maple Leafs could look like with young Leafs star Matthew Knies as the main piece in a return for Hughes.

Loading from Twitter ...

Knies is enjoying a breakout season for the Maple Leafs with 22 points in 19 games putting him on pace for a clear career high. Acquiring Knies would jump start the Canucks rebuild giving them another young star forward to pair with Elias Pettersson. For the Maple Leafs, they would finally get the game breaking offensive defenseman the team has desperately needed for several seasons. However, the Maple Leafs likely only do this deal if Hughes is willing to sign a long-term extension to stay in Toronto which at this point is unlikely. While this trade would be incredibly exciting for the league as a whole and the shake up of each team it remains an unlikely move.
