The Canucks are struggling and head coach Rick Tocchet is shaking up the lines quite a bit for tonight with the hope it can lead to a spark against the Canadiens. The Vancouver Canucks are searching for offense and shuffling their roster trying to find it. The Canucks have been the lowest-scoring team in the NHL since January 1. They have not scored more than three goals in any game since a 5-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Jan. 27. As a result, there have been significant adjustments to the forward group by head coach Rick Tocchet. The forward lines looked as follows at morning skate today ahead of their matchup against the Montreal Canadiens: O'Connor - Pettersson - Boeser DeBrusk - Chytil - Lekkerimäki Joshua - Blueger - Garland Höglander - Suter - Sherwood

Elias Pettersson is now centering Brock Boeser and Drew O'Connor, departing from his previous linemates of the last two games, Conor Garland and Dakota Joshua. Boeser is Vancouver's top goal-scorer and, even with rumors of trade speculation, he was ultimately not traded at the deadline. Tocchet is counting on this line to produce offense but hopes to get some out of all of his players. We're a committee, it's a four-line team, and we need production from everybody, but obviously, we talked about certain guys, especially the power play; you've got to come up with some of these things, said Rick Tocchet.
Tocchet is reuniting some players who had previous chemistry
Another key reunion is the Joshua-Blueger-Garland line, who did a good job last season. Tocchet is looking for them to regain that chemistry and provide solid secondary scoring. Quinn Hughes, on the other hand, was out practicing in a red non-contact jersey as he works back from injury. In his absence, the team ran through different combinations of defensemen at practice. Hughes will not play tonight but should return shortly. He has been out since March 1, fighting a string of injuries, including a January hand issue, a reported oblique strain, and now an undisclosed injury. The Canucks need offense, and with these line shuffles, they hope to find it.
