Tonight, Vancouver Canucks GM Patrik Allvin has provided a disappointing injury update on several players including Derek Forbort and Marco Rossi.
The Vancouver Canucks have been ravaged by injuries over the last several weeks leaving them without much talent in the lineup.
Injuries to Marco Rossi, Derek Forbort, and Thatcher Demko along with the trade of Kiefer Sherwood has left the Canucks with holes all over the lineup.
Now, Patrik Allvin has confirmed the situation is worse than many had hoped as Rossi, Forbort, and Demko will all be out long-term.
Patrik Allvin confirms multiple frustrating injury developments
During his most recent press conference, Allvin confirmed that Rossi will likely be out past the Olympic break.
In addition, Derek Forbort suffered a setback and will now miss the entire season according to Allvin.
Patrik Allvin says #Canucks being careful with Rossi, who is back skating, but he's likely out until after Olympics. And Allvin says Derek Forbort is likely done for the season. Said slim chance he plays again, but didn't sound like it was likely. Called it a setback to a previous injury
After those updates Allvin also announced that Thatcher Demko is getting a second opinion on his injuries and whether or not surgery will be necessary.
I think we are going through, taking opinions from other resources around the world to see where his status is and what needs to be done or not.
If there is a silver lining at all to this news the Canucks are at least in a rebuild and these missing players will not impact the Canucks chances of making the Stanley Cup Playoffs at this point.
As more information is provided on the Canucks laundry list of injuries we will pass the latest details along to you.
