This evening former Vancouver Canuck J.T. Miller finally opened up about the issues between himself and Elias Pettersson that led to Miller being traded to the Rangers. Earlier today J.T. Miller spoke to the media and confirmed the business side of things was the reason he decided to request a trade away from the Canucks. This evening Miller expanded upon those thoughts by discussing some of the problems between himself and former teammate Elias Pettersson. For months leading up to the trade, there had been reports that the two star players had been feuding and could no longer co-exist. Despite these reports being out in the public both players and the organization declined to comment or talk about the ongoing situation. Now with both players going their separate ways and Miller about to face his former team for the first time he finally decided to discuss what happened.
J.T. Miller Finally Speaks On Relationship Issues With Elias Pettersson
After months of no comment or denial of issues between the players, J.T. Miller finally gave a legitimate answer regarding the problems. In a new interview with the media, Miller admits publicly for the first time that problems with him and Pettersson ultimately led to the trade. The whole me and Petey thing is still blown out of proportion. I get what Jim was doing I have a ton of respect for him and spoke to him after the trade I wasn't mad. Clearly, if me and Petey were better than we were things might have been different.

While Miller still maintains that the whole situation was less severe than reported it still did end with a trade of one of the Canucks biggest stars. According to sources around the situation, there were plenty of attempts to resolve the issues that just never stuck. This admission from Miller still leaves more questions than answers about the entire situation but does finally confirm that the problems between the two players were not fabricated and were a major factor in the trade.
