New York Rangers forward J.T. Miller called out the Vancouver Canucks and their fans in an exclusive interview. J.T. Miller reunited with the New York Rangers earlier this season after a tough few months in Vancouver, marred by locker room controversies involving Elias Pettersson. It wasn't an easy time for Miller, who stopped loving coming to the rink every day in Vancouver. He opened up on this rough chapter in a recent interview, providing interesting insights into his personality and where he's at right now. I definitely come off as angry. People may not like that, but I don't really give a [expletive] what they think. My whole career, I feel like I have something to prove all the time. The second I lose that mindset, I feel like things are going to dip-and they have. The proof is in the pudding there. You never want to feel like you're at a satisfied mentality. Miller goes on to explain that he has had this mentality his entire life and has no plans to change it. I've been like that since I was a kid. I always want more. It's just a part of my DNA, really. I play on a sharp sword. That's just how it is, and I feel like I spent a lot of my career explaining myself. I think people that know me as a teammate and a friend and a player, they understand my game and understand that's just part of who I am. Everybody's different, so I just try to regulate the emotions. I don't want it to go away because it brings out the best in me. But if things are starting to go the other way, I have to learn how to recognize that, and that's something I think I've gotten better at. Later on in the interview Miller made surprising comments that seemed to be directed toward the fans.
J.T. Miller Calls Out Vancouver Canucks Fans
He also called out the Canucks organization when he talked about how he didn't enjoy his time in Vancouver this season: A lot of the season wasn't really fun, so I'm just enjoying myself right now. It's fun coming to the rink again. Miller scored 18 points in 18 games since he joined the Rangers, including three in his last four games. Miller and the Canucks clearly had a fractured relationship before he was traded away to the Rangers and since then he has made sure to burn any bridges left to the ground.
