Tonight, a new report from insider Rick Dhaliwal has connected the Canucks to former first-round pick Jack Roslovic to replace Dakota Joshua. Earlier today, the Vancouver Canucks made the surprising decision to part ways with veteran forward Dakota Joshua. The move by the Canucks was in effort to clear salary cap space after trading for veteran forward Evander Kane. However, the move has now left the Canucks without sufficient depth at forward leading Vancouver to look for a cheaper option to fill the void. A new report from Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal has suggested Jack Roslovic as a name to keep an eye on.
Insider Links The Canucks To Former First-Round Pick To Replace Fan Favorite
With Joshua on his way to Toronto, the Canucks now have just over 3 million dollars in salary cap space to operate. According to Rick Dhaliwal, the Canucks plan to use some of that money to bring in a forward. His sources have indicated that Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford have recently been in contact to negotiate with free agent Jack Roslovic.

Loading from Twitter ...

Roslovic, 28, was originally selected 25th overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 2015 NHL Draft. Since then, Roslovic has played 526 over 9 seasons with the Winnipeg Jets, Columbus Blue Jackets, New York Rangers, and Carolina Hurricanes. While Roslovic has not lived up to the hype of a former first rounder he has developed into one of the better third line energy forwards in the NHL. If Allvin and Rutherford can convince Roslovic to come to Vancouver he could be the perfect replacement for Joshua next season.
