Insider Opens Up About Bo Horvat's Controversial Exit From Vancouver After Conflict With J.T. Miller
Tonight, a new report from Rick Dhaliwal has shed some light on Bo Horvat's exit from the Vancouver Canucks organization after problems with J.T. Miller.
Over the last year the conflict between Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller has been well documented after the trade that sent Miller out of town to the New York Rangers.
To this point, the conflict between Pettersson and Miller was the only publicly known altercation that J.T. Miller had during his time in Vancouver.
A new report from Rick Dhaliwal has confirmed that before the Miller and Pettersson conflict there was another issue between Miller and former Canucks captain Bo Horvat.
Bo Horvat Was Reportedly Driven Out of Vancouver After the Organization Sided With J.T. Miller
According to the report from Dhaliwal, it seems that Horvat was willing to stay in Vancouver but Patrik Allvin and the front office decided to keep Miller instead.
Instead, Horvat left the Canucks and signed a long-term deal with the New York Islanders where he has continued the success that he enjoyed while in Vancouver without the drama following him around.
It does remain unclear if salary cap restrictions became the issue for the Canucks at the time or if there were personal issues between Miller and Horvat that led to the split.
Regardless, the Canucks chose Miller and almost immediately seemed to regret it as they moved him out shortly after to the Rangers.
Now, without Horvat or Miller, the Canucks lack serious depth and have been forced to rally around Elias Pettersson who is a polarizing figure in Vancouver since Miller was traded.
As the season goes on, it will be interesting to see if more details on this fascinating situation come to the surface or if they remain behind closed doors.
