Evander Kane's 2024/25 season wasn't one to write home about, but now that he's joined his hometown Canucks, he's excited about what the future holds.

The Vancouver Canucks went out and made some changes this off-season, and perhaps the most interesting of all was the addition of Vancouver native Evander Kane from the Edmonton Oilers.
Last season, Kane had off-season surgery that saw him miss the entire regular season, but when it was time to go again in the post-season, he once again showed his value, tallying 6 goals and 12 points in 21 games played.

Kane thrilled to be playing for his hometown Canucks

Training camp and the regular season are now fast approaching, and recently, Kane was asked about playing in Vancouver, and he revealed how easy the transition to hockey was given the people he has in the city and the familiarity.
"Knowing the city and having lots of friends and family here makes the transition to the team a lot easier. That way you can just focus on the hockey."
From these comments, it appears as though the veteran is ready to hit the ground running, and given the Canucks desires to bounce back from a less than stellar 2024/25 campaign, they'll desperately need him too.
On paper, the relationship between Kane and Vancouver is one that can help keep the issues he's brought to previous locker rooms away, but if given the right opportunities and the talent on this roster, there's no doubting that 2025/26 could be a good one for Vancouver, with the team optimistic they can return to the post-season again.
As the season gets underway it will be interesting to see if Kane can turn his words into positive action on the ice.
