Elias Pettersson is looking to turn things around after a rough 2024/25 campaign, but unfortunately, his bad luck continued after a tough moment against Dallas.

The 2024/25 campaign was an absolute disaster for the Vancouver Canucks overall, but perhaps the biggest negative of all during that year was star forward Elias Pettersson.
Coming off the back of two incredible seasons, Pettersson struggled mightily both on and off the ice, but now that he's healthy and J.T. Miller is gone, hopes are high for a bounce back season.

Pettersson's bad luck continues

With just one assist through three games this season, Pettersson was looking to get things going against the Dallas Stars, with the team needing their 1C to step up and be the player we once saw if they are any hopes of a return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Unfortunately, this doesn't appear to be the game that will see his luck turn around, as the Stars were looking to work a play in front of the net, with Pettersson looking to block the pass, but ultimately tipping it past Thatcher Demko into his own net.
After last season, fans were incredibly frustrated, and after this play, things seemingly haven't gotten much better, as fans are once again criticizing him and asking the Canucks to move the $11.5 million forward.
Ultimately, this may be just a lengthy run of bad luck for Pettersson, who was once seen as one of the top centre's in the entire National Hockey League, but if this is a sign of things to come in Vancouver this season, it's safe to say that things could become very toxic for the Canucks once more.
