The Vancouver Canucks are officially open to trading Teddy Blueger, as the team has surprisingly begun listening to offers from teams for his services.
The Vancouver Canucks have been very active on the trade market this season, but with the deadline looming, they may not be finished just yet.
The Canucks would prefer to move forward Teddy Blueger prior to the deadline, Daily Faceoff's Anthony DiMarco reports.
Blueger, 30, could be a consideration for clubs seeking to bolster depth in the bottom six. Contenders generally seek two-way centers with penalty-killing ability, and in the final few hours before the deadline, he'd be a plus.
Blueger has another year left on his contract
However, Blueger is more than a rental. The 2012 second-round pick is under contract until the 2025-26 season with a cap hit of $1.8 million, a manageable salary that could make him more attractive on the trade market.
Blueger played in 61 games for Vancouver this season with six goals, 18 points, and 80 hits. He had six goals and 28 points in 68 games for the Canucks last year.
With the clock ticking, we'll soon find out if Vancouver decides to move him before the deadline. GM Patrik Allvin is likely hard at work on the phones, as the Canucks are in an interesting position where they can be both buyers and sellers at the deadline.
