Vancouver Canucks forward Filip Chytil spoke to the media for the first time since suffering a frustrating injury in October thanks to a controversial hit from Tom Wilson of the Washington Capitals.

Vancouver Canucks forward Filip Chytil, who was acquired last year from the New York Rangers as part of the blockbuster JT Miller trade, only lasted six games so far this season before getting hurt.
Even though he's not played since then, he's getting closer to returning for the Canucks, who are last in the Western Conference and have already traded away captain Quinn Hughes.
Chytil is looking forward to getting back with his teammates as he explained to the media earlier in the day.
It's been a long three months [with] a lot of hard work behind me. Yeah, just now I need some more practices with my teammates and yeah, whenever I [can] be ready, I'm going to be back, and I can't wait for that day.

From the beginning, it was very hard because I was hopeful that I could manage to play all 82 games, but it wasn't the case. But this is the part of the sport and I can avoid it sometimes, but yeah, sometimes it is the days like [these] the last two years [that have] been very hard for myself and for my wife, for my family especially. And yeah, I missed so many events. I missed so many games in the NHL. Now I'm gonna miss Olympics as well, so it sucks, but it is what it is. - Filip Chytil

Filip Chytil Has Not Played Since October

Chytil's injury was in mid-October after suffering a questionable hit form Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson, who has been fined and suspended several times in his NHL career for that kind of thing.
Chytil was off to a good start in what was to be his first full year in a Canucks sweater, scoring three goals in his first six games before getting hurt.
In 399 career NHL games, Chytil has 173 points (80G, 93A).
