Pierre Dorion now sits inside Adam Foote's Canucks storm, and Vancouver's front-office search just got louder.
This is no longer just a hiring rumor. It has turned into a business problem.
Frank Seravalli reported the Canucks have received a flood of complaints from season-ticket holders and business community people over the idea of hiring Dorion.
That matters because Vancouver is not selling hope from a position of strength.
The Canucks finished 25-49-8, last in the NHL, with a -100 goal differential.
Their home record was even uglier: 9-27-5 in a building that has watched patience drain fast.
The post names Dorion as still part of the mix, but lower on the list, which reads like a candidate losing steam.
Re Canucks: "Apparently, they've gotten a flood of complaints from season ticket holders and business community people saying...might be the last straw...if you hire Pierre Dorion; he might still be part of [the mix] but on the lower end."

Canucks pressure shifts from roster to trust
Foote can demand better habits in the locker room, but the next front-office hire tells fans what ownership learned from this season.
A 58-point team needs more than a familiar hockey name. It needs credibility before puck drop next fall.
Dorion's Ottawa history makes this harder to sell in Vancouver, where the market studies every move and punishes shortcuts.
This is why the backlash matters strategically. Season-ticket anger is not noise when renewals, suites, and corporate confidence are attached.
The Canucks can still interview whoever they want. But once paying customers start warning the club before the hire, the process changes.
Dorion may not be out. But he is no longer just being judged by his resume.
He is being judged by whether Vancouver can afford the reaction.
