Tonight, a new interview with former Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau exposed his former bosses Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford for their toxic behavior.
The Vancouver Canucks are known for having one of the most dysfunctional organizations in all of sports over the last few years.
Stories have emerged over the years of internal turmoil and frustration between coaches and players with former President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford and GM Patrik Allvin.
Now, former Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau spoke about his time in Vancouver and exposed Rutherford and Allvin for their terrible management.
Bruce Boudreau calls out former Canucks management for toxic behavior
During a recent segment, Boudreau called out Rutherford for creating a terrible working environment and Allvin for essentially being Rutherford's puppet.
Those 3 guys are going to be so much better than having Jim there and Allvin who did whatever Jim wanted anyways. So it didn't really matter if Patrik was there or not.
When it comes to the new management, Boudreau left a glowing review for new GM Ryan Johnson who Boudreau says was the most approachable person in the front office while he was there.
RJ was the only one that was easy to talk to when I was there. The only one where you could have a conversation and you weren't worried it would get back to anybody.
While many had speculated that ownership was at fault for the culture problem in Vancouver it seems Jim Rutherford was more to blame.
This is great news for Canucks fans hoping for a major shift in the organization as it seems a significant culture shift could be on the horizon.
As next season gets underway, it will be interesting to see how the Canucks communication with the media and overall culture changes.
If significant change is made, the Canucks could turn their situation around much quicker than expected.
