Vancouver Canucks' Brock Boeser appears disappointed and sad at a presser

These next four games may be Brock Boeser's last with the Canucks, as he heartbreakingly admitted that his time in Vancouver is likely done after this season.

It appears that Brock Boeser's days playing for the Vancouver Canucks are coming to an end. Boeser, the Canucks' 2015 draft pick, got his start on March 25, 2017, and is the oldest active member on the roster.
Still, with free agency looming next month on July 1, the 28-year-old right winger will definitely be looking for a new home. Recently, in an interview with Sportsnet's Iain MacIntyre, Boeser confirmed he's not coming back to Vancouver.
"Honestly, it's unlikely at this point," Boeser said of the possibility of re-signing with the Canucks. "It sucks, it's unfortunate."
That is not surprising. Canucks management has been lukewarm on Boeser for quite a while now. President Jim Rutherford last June said that the team did not plan on signing him to a contract extension after his 40-goal season.
GM Patrik Allvin said the same some time later, even going so far as to criticize Boeser for removing his foot from the gas pedal once he reached the 30-goal plateau last season.

The Canucks may lose Boeser for nothing this offseason after not trading him

Vancouver was reportedly shopping Boeser ahead of the latest trade deadline, but Allvin stated they didn't receive any proposals worth accepting.
"If I told you what I was offered for Brock Boeser, I think I would have to run out of here because you would not believe me," Allvin said.

Where questions about Boeser's skating and how his game translates long term linger, the reliability of his production still lingers.
While the Canucks themselves have not generated much offensively this year, Boeser leads the team with 25 goals and is second in scoring with 49 points, figures worthy of career highs, even if they fall from last year's breakout to the point of dropping.
All signs point to Boeser wearing a new jersey at training camp in September, which is going to be a tough pill to swallow for Canucks fans, who have already had to endure a ton of drama surrounding the team this season.
