Alex Pietrangelo traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs: a shocking trade proposal
A trade proposal floating around online has Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Alex Pietrangelo traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs for Mitch Marner.
The Golden Knights are going through a slight re-tooling, as their current roster doesn't seem as powerful as what we've been used to seeing since they entered the league in 2017. They suffered a huge loss in Jonathan Marchessault, and desperately need a replacement. The latest online trade rumor would fix all that.
Marner for Pietrangelo?

Leafs head coach Craig Berube used to coach Pietrangelo during their days together with the St. Louis Blues, so a reunion between the two would likely help set some immediate chemistry. The Leafs would get some much needed defensive stability with Pietrangelo, which is something the team has lacked in recent years with all the injuries suffered on the blue line.
Are the days numbered for Leafs fans watching the incredible duo of Marner and Auston Matthews? Not quite, as the Leafs are not in an immediate rush to trade Marner, however, don't be surprised if something happens before the trade deadline, especially if the Leafs fail to sign Marner to an extension.
