Didn't see the ice in the third period. #NYR The tweet gained traction quickly, and fans came to a conclusion as to a potential reason for the benching. Rempe had a bit of a defensive breakdown on one of Washington's goal, and didn't see the ice following the play. That might be one of the reasons Rempe wasn't trusted late in the game. Plays like that certainly aren't acceptable in tight playoff games, and could be why Rempe had to ride the pine for a bit.
