After game four of the Stanley Cup Playoffs series between the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Rangers wrapped up, a fan of the Rangers attacked a Hurricanes fan following the game.

Following the 4-3 win for the Hurricanes, the fans were quite happy and Rangers fans were pretty upset about the loss.

While it is common to have verbal arguments after the game, it is becoming all too common for fans to blindside another fan and cause bodily harm.

The video circulating the internet is brutal and hard to watch, but it shows the realities of just how far sports fans go when their teams lose, and it is quite sad.\

Rangers fans won seven consecutive games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs before suffering a loss. That in itself they should be proud of. Losing sucks, of course, but it sucks even more when you end up in jail because you did something in the heat of the moment.

Game five between the New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes heads back to Madison Square Garden in New York.

Carolina looks to force game six and this Rangers fan will hopefully have been rightfully placed in jail for this vicious and unnecessary attack on the Hurricanes fan.

Hopefully, this Hurricanes fan feels safe enough to go to another game and support his team going forward. There's no place for this sort of stuff.

Thankfully there were multiple people ready to tend to the fallen Hurricanes fan. There is still some good in the world.
