The NHL's top remaining RFA player is now off the market, as the Minnesota Wild and Marco Rossi have agreed to a three-year contract worth $15 million. The <a href='https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/report-minnesota-wild-signing-marco-rossi-to-three-year-15m-after-long-stalemate-1.2349192' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Minnesota Wild ended a months-long contract impasse by agreeing to terms</a> with restricted free agent Marco Rossi on a three-year, $15 million deal, according to Michael Russo of 'The Athletic', which was then reported by PuckPedia. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/RussoHockey/status/1958918745058861470'><div style='border:1px solid #CCCCCC;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;width:300px;'>Loading from Twitter ...</div></a></blockquote></div> <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/PuckPedia/status/1958922585833710075'><div style='border:1px solid #CCCCCC;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;width:300px;'>Loading from Twitter ...</div></a></blockquote></div> The contract gives the 23-year-old forward a $5 million cap hit annually. <a href='https://www.nhl.com/wild/player/marco-rossi-8482079' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Marco Rossi</a> is fresh from a breakout 2024-25 campaign where he scored 24 goals and 60 points in all 82 games. In the playoffs, though, his ice time was reduced from a regular-season average of 18:15 to a little more than 11 minutes a game, and he scored two goals and added an assist in six games. <h3>The Wild Rejected a Trade Offer From the Canucks for Rossi Earlier in the Offseason</h3> <a href='https://www.hockeylatest.com/nhl/trades/vancouver-canucks-back-in-blockbuster-trade-talks-with-western-conference-rival' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Trade rumors surrounded Rossi earlier this offseason, with the Vancouver Canucks</a> reportedly offering this year's 15th overall pick for the young centre, a proposition the Wild rejected. General manager Bill Guerin admitted he wasn't keen on moving Rossi but wouldn't completely rule it out. The Wild reportedly offered a five-year, $25 million extension during the season, which Rossi's side countered with a bridge deal, an avenue the team rejected at the time until now. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/RussoHockey/status/1958921922080591994'><div style='border:1px solid #CCCCCC;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;width:300px;'>Loading from Twitter ...</div></a></blockquote></div> The 5-foot-9 forward, who was taken ninth overall in the 2020 draft, has 45 goals and 101 points in 185 career games and is now set to be a top-six mainstay for the Wild. With this new agreement in hand, the Wild lock up one of their brightest young stars and provide Rossi with an opportunity to show that he can be a cornerstone of the franchise for years to come. Sadly for the team's Western Conference and division rivals, they will now be forced to play against a much tougher opponent.
