Former Oilers centerman Tyler Pitlick was placed on waivers today by the Minnesota Wild, so teams will have 24 hours to put in a claim for his services.

A player who formerly played for the Edmonton Oilers, Tyler Pitlick, was placed on waivers by the Minnesota Wild, according to a Sportsnet report by Elliotte Friedman.
Another player who was on the waiver list yesterday is Dysin Mayo, who was waived by the Blue Jackets, but he went unclaimed.

What Tyler Pitlick has done so far this season in the NHL

At 32, Pitlick has not established a regular position this season, scoring just one goal in 23 games. He has been a healthy scratch for each of the last nine games for the Wild, indicating that his position within the lineup was coming to an end.
In the event that no NHL team picks him up, Pitlick will likely be assigned to the AHL affiliate Iowa Wild, where he can have more ice time.

Why Tyler Pitlick could be a solid waiver claim for multiple teams

Pitlick is an NHL forward whose game is built on versatility, speed, and a tireless work ethic. A 2010 pick out of Edmonton, he has carved out a solid career as a trustworthy depth player who fits into a variety of roles across different rosters.
Capable of lining up on either wing, he kills penalties with strong effort and brings some physicality without actually having a very heavy frame.
He may not have the most consistent offense, but much of his value can be defined by his forechecking, defensive responsibility, and the ability to slot into various roles across the lineup.
Having been part of both rebuilding squads and contending clubs, the experience has made him a trustworthy role player who can adapt to whatever a given situation demands and stay relevant at the highest level throughout his pro journey.
Although it doesn't appear to have worked out in Minnesota, perhaps another NHL club will take a chance on him. We will find out in less than 24 hours.
