The Oilers are fresh off signing Jack Roslovic, but on November 1st, a new twist kicks in to his contract, where he has an intriguing four-team trade list. Everyone has been raving about how Jack Roslovic might have lost himself a fortune by signing with the Edmonton Oilers once the season was underway. But few people picked up on a tremendous addendum to his new contract, one that might have his tenure in Oil Town short-lived. The 10-year NHL veteran agreed to a one-year contract worth a $1.5 million AAV. There's a negotiated no-trade clause in there, however, that activates on November 1st and gives Roslovic a four-team trade list.
Zach Hyman is Expected to Return Around November 1st, the Same Date as Jack Roslovic's No-Trade Clause
Insider Elliotte Friedman reports that date might not be coincidental, as it is around that time when teams start to take early-season matches and roster flexibility seriously. But there's more; it's also the expected date of return for injured Zach Hyman. Roslovic has a pretty interesting contract. On November 1st, which is about the time Zach Hyman comes back, it becomes a four-team trade list... It's almost like it's a trial to see if everybody's happy here, and I assume the teams on that list are the teams that were also looking at him (in free agency this summer). - Elliotte Friedman

Loading from Twitter ...

Though the Oilers are reportedly keen on keeping the 28-year-old right-winger, they also have plenty of options to choose from among their forwards. They've got a lot of guys to figure out. - Elliotte Friedman Roslovic, who reached a career high of 22 goals with the Carolina Hurricanes last season, might even get an early opportunity with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, a path to establishing himself. But the timing of his no-trade clause is causing everyone to ask: Is this a fleeting experiment, or the beginning of something more in Edmonton? For now, Roslovic's near future appears bright, but after November 1, things might be equally intriguing.
