The Oilers appear to be closer to settling their backup goalie situation, where Connor Ingram is making a case to clearly take over that spot for the team.

Connor Ingram picked up his third consecutive start with the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night, although the night did not go his way in a 3-2 loss to the Calgary Flames, he has definitely been playing well.
Ingram made 29 saves out of 32 shots to put up a save percentage of .906 in a game that marked his third quality start in the season. With a small sample size, Ingram has amassed a save percentage of .915 and a goals-against average of 2.35.

What Connor Ingram has provided to the Oilers

While Tristan Jarry is gradually getting into form with his injury, Ingram has provided Kris Knoblauch with composure in the crease.
The most impressive of these came in the third period, where Ingram stifled Adam Klapka at the goal line, but it is even more important to note how composed he was throughout.
This helped Edmonton remain in scoring range and never seem frazzled, even while Calgary had chances created in high-danger zones. There were no goals on the power play, and none were directed at the goalie.
Yegor Sharangovich scored from an open spot in the slot, Ryan Lomberg took advantage of an intercepted Alec Regula pass, and Blake Coleman completed a series of passes that left Evan Bouchard and Mattias Ekholm out of position.

Why the Oilers goalie situation has been a concern

The goalie situation for the Edmonton Oilers has been a source of concern. The acquisition of Jarry came about due to inconsistencies from Stuart Skinner, while Ingram came in before the season for depth.
Currently, Ingram has performed well above Calvin Pickard, whose record currently stands at 3-5-2 and has among the lowest quality starts in the league, which goes along with a save percentage of .861.
As Jarry is projected to be out for several weeks, Ingram is picking up more starts and seems to have a good chance of sticking with the Oilers to serve as their backup when Jarry returns.
