Huge changes are in store for tonight's Game 6 for Oilers fans, as the team will be adding an additional viewing party area to accommodate the super high demand. Edmonton Oilers fans have been so ridiculously enthusiastic this year in their drive for the playoffs that the team is adding a third watch party site to its outdoor viewing area. To date, fans have been able to gather in two main locations outside Rogers Place: the popular fan favourite Moss Pit in Ice District Plaza to the south and the tented Fan Park to the east. Both have, however, consistently filled to capacity before or just after puck drop, and many fans have not been able to be part of the gathering. To accommodate the demand, the Oilers are opening a second viewing area, Fan Park North, located just north of the current Fan Park. To ensure even more fans can cheer on the Edmonton Oilers in Ice District, we are happy to introduce a second watch party experience at the Play Alberta Fan Park lot, the Ice District Instagram shared on social media. The additional space, accessible via 105 Avenue, will feature the live game stream, food trucks and bars.

Loading from Twitter ...

Tonight will be the debut of the new viewing party district
The new space opens Thursday night when Edmonton plays the LA Kings in Game 6, a game that would win the series. As with the other locations, Fan Park North is free and open to all ages. The fans will need to sign up for a free Oilers Loyalty Rewards Membership in order to attend. Note that this area does not include admission to the Molson Hockey House tent. Access to Fans Park North will be from 105 Avenue, located behind Rogers Place, instead of the 104 Avenue entrance used for the other watch zones. All three vantage points, the Moss Pit and both Fan Parks, will be open 90 minutes before game time. Because of the growing crowds, an early arrival is strongly recommended in order to get a spot.
